About the Company
Our client, a leading heavy equipment company, is looking for a driven sales professional to develop their agricultural market in one of Canada's most fertile and profitable farming regions. Edmonton area farmers operate some of the most successful agricultural operations in the country, with annual equipment budgets often exceeding $1M. They value efficiency, reliability, and partnerships with suppliers who understand their business. This is a ground-up territory build in a market where the right rep can earn $200,000-$300,000+ annually while representing premium telehandlers that deliver real operational advantages.
Your Mission
Develop relationships with farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and rural businesses throughout the Edmonton region. You'll be introducing premium telehandlers to operations currently using forklifts, skid steers, or older equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Farm-to-farm prospecting: Drive rural routes, make farm calls, and build relationships in the agricultural community
- Consultative selling: Assess material handling needs for grain operations, livestock facilities, and general farming
- ROI presentations: Demonstrate productivity gains, cost savings, and operational improvements
- Equipment demonstrations: Coordinate on-site trials so farmers can test equipment in their operations
- Long-term relationships: Become the trusted equipment advisor for your farming clients
- Market intelligence: Stay current on crop conditions, commodity prices, and agricultural trends
What You Bring:
- Agricultural knowledge: Farm background, agricultural equipment experience, or deep understanding of farming operations
- 3+ years B2B sales experience with proven success in territory development
- Relationship builder: You connect authentically with farmers and rural business owners
- Self-motivated: Comfortable working independently across a large geographic area
- Consultative approach: You sell solutions, not just products
- Local presence: Must be Edmonton area resident
What You'll Earn:
- Base Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
- Commission Structure: Industry leading commission plan plus quarterly bonus potential
- Year 1 Total Compensation: $95,000-$120,000
- Year 2-3 Earning Potential: $150,000-$250,000+ as territory develops
- Comprehensive Benefits: Extended health & dental, RRSP program
