About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, understands mechanical systems thoroughly, and can move seamlessly between the office, field, and client meetings. The right candidate will balance estimating expertise with the leadership skills needed to drive field productivity—and the commercial insight to help win work.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical contracting (HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, or multi-trade).
  • Proven track record of driving field productivity and improving labour efficiency.
  • Ability to present to clients and support business development in addition to estimating.
  • Strong technical knowledge: blueprint reading, construction math, BC Building Codes.
  • Proficient with Procore and QuickBooks; familiarity with Microsoft Project, CAD, and estimating software.
  • Journeyperson trade background or an engineering/Construction Management degree is an asset.
  • Confident communicator and negotiator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Preconstruction (40–50%)

  • Prepare accurate material/labour take-offs, budgets, and proposals.
  • Lead pre-tender site walkthroughs and review drawings/specifications.
  • Coordinate the tender process with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Create compelling proposal documents to help secure work.

Project Management & Execution (30–40%)

  • Oversee procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
  • Lead field teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and labour targets are met.
  • Conduct site visits, chair meetings, and proactively resolve field issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.

Financial & Reporting (20%)

  • Monitor project costs and labour performance against budgets.
  • Manage progress draws, change orders, and receivables.
  • Report project status, risks, and financial performance to senior leadership
