About the Company
Our client is a well-established industrial service company specializing in compressed air systems, industrial air compressors, and rotating equipment. They support customers across Western Canada in industries such as manufacturing, construction, energy, and heavy industry.
Due to continued growth, they are expanding their service team in Red Deer and are looking for a Field Service Technician to join the group. This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of industrial equipment while developing specialized expertise in compressor systems and rotating machinery.
About the Role
This is a field-based position where technicians travel to customer facilities to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and complete repairs on compressed air systems.
The role provides strong technical variety, significant independence in the field, and the support of a collaborative service team with extensive compressor experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Service and Troubleshooting
- Perform preventative maintenance on industrial air compressors and related equipment
- Diagnose and repair issues with compressed air systems including rotary screw and reciprocating compressors
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with compressors and rotating equipment
- Perform equipment installations and compressor start-ups
- Service, rebuild, and maintain compressor systems and associated components
- Configure and install temporary rental compressors when required to maintain customer operations
Customer Support
- Work directly with customers on-site to explain equipment issues and recommended solutions
- Provide clear communication regarding repair options, timelines, and next steps
- Maintain strong relationships with plant operators, maintenance teams, and facility managers
Operational Support
- Travel to customer sites within the assigned territory to perform service work
- Complete service reports and documentation following each job
- Communicate with internal service teams when additional support or parts are required
Qualifications:
Preferred Trades Background - the following trades backgrounds are preferred:
- Journeyperson Millwright or Industrial Mechanic
- Journeyperson Electrician
- Heavy Duty Mechanic
Candidates without these specific trades will still be considered if they have strong experience working with rotating equipment or industrial mechanical systems.
Technical Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience working in industrial field service or equipment maintenance
- Experience with air compressors, rotating equipment, pumps, gas compression systems, or similar industrial equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Electrical troubleshooting experience is a significant asset
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs in the field
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable working independently in a field service environment
- Willingness to travel to customer sites within the region
