If you’re someone who enjoys building relationships, getting in front of customers, and influencing projects early instead of simply reacting to tenders, this could be a strong long-term opportunity.
Our client is creating a strategic business development role focused on growing relationships with developers, municipalities, contractors, end users, and key construction stakeholders across British Columbia. This is not a transactional sales role or a traditional “territory rep” position. The focus is on opening doors, building trust, and helping influence projects earlier in the construction cycle.
The company has a strong reputation within the lighting, construction, and technology space and is looking for someone who can help expand strategic relationships across the market while working closely with internal sales and project teams.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building and growing relationships with developers, municipalities, contractors, distributors, end users, and strategic accounts
- Identifying opportunities early in the project lifecycle
- Working closely with internal teams to help position solutions into projects
- Managing a pipeline of opportunities while staying highly customer-facing in the market
- Attending industry events, site visits, meetings, and presentations across BC
- Supporting project opportunities from early design stages through to quotation and delivery
- Collaborating closely with sales, project, specification, and leadership teams to support strategic growth initiatives
- Helping grow market presence across Metro Vancouver and broader BC regions
Who They’re Looking For:
Strong backgrounds could come from:
- Lighting
- Electrical distribution
- Automation and controls
- Security or technology solutions
- Electrical contracting
- Construction or engineering-related sales
The ideal person is:
- Relationship-driven
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Comfortable creating opportunities from scratch
- Strong in front of customers
- Self-motivated without needing heavy structure
- Someone who enjoys long-term relationship building rather than quick transactional sales
This is a highly collaborative environment. The company values team-first people who work well cross-functionally and genuinely enjoy building strong internal and external relationships.
What Makes the Opportunity Attractive:
- Newly created strategic growth role with strong visibility internally
- Long-term opportunity to help shape and grow a market
- Collaborative and entrepreneurial culture
- Strong industry reputation and established relationships
- Flexible work environment with strong autonomy
- Opportunity to work across a wide range of projects and customer groups
Compensation & Structure:
- Base salary roughly in the $90K–$115K range depending on experience
- Team-based incentive structure
- Vehicle allowance provided
- Solid vacation package and overall benefits program
Territory:
- Primarily focused on Metro Vancouver and broader British Columbia & Yukon
- Significant customer-facing presence expected
- Flexible work structure with autonomy to manage your territory and relationships effectively
Why Apply?
