We’re working with a well-established industrial automation and controls distributor looking to add an Automation Product Specialist to their team. This is a hands-on role that blends technical support, inside sales, and coordination. You’ll work closely with internal sales teams to help scope solutions, support customers, and drive growth across a range of automation products including drives, PLCs, motion, and HMI systems.
If you enjoy being the go-to technical resource while staying close to the commercial side, this role offers a strong mix of both.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Act as the internal product expert, supporting sales teams with technical guidance and solution recommendations
- Assist with product selection, sizing, and basic system configuration
- Prepare and manage quotes, and help move opportunities through to close
- Provide training and support to internal teams and customers
- Support after-sales inquiries, troubleshooting, and product-related questions
- Work with marketing on campaigns, events, and customer-facing initiatives
- Coordinate with operations on inventory, availability, and lead times
- Track activity, support reporting, and provide insight into sales performance
What They’re Looking For:
- 3–7+ years in industrial automation, controls, or related technical sales/support roles
- Experience with drives, PLCs, motion, or similar systems
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to support real-world applications
- Comfortable working with sales teams and customers in a support capacity
- Organized and detail-oriented, especially with quotes and follow-ups
- Able to manage multiple priorities across different teams
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary: $80,000 - $100,000 with some flexibility for the right candidate
- Performance-based bonus structure
- Extended health and dental benefits
- RRSP matching program
- Ongoing training and development support
- Team events and a collaborative work environment
Why Apply?
This isn’t a back-office technical role. You’ll be right in the middle of sales, customers, and real-world applications, helping shape solutions that actually get used.
The company is growing and putting real focus into its automation offering. You’ll play a key role in that, working across teams and becoming a go-to resource people rely on.
If you’re looking for a role where you can stay technical but also have a direct impact on the business, this is a strong opportunity.
