We’re working with a well-established and highly respected provider of process instrumentation and control solutions across Western Canada. This is a growth-driven hire to support an active and expanding territory in British Columbia, with a focus on the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions. The Role
As an Account Manager, you will take ownership of a defined territory across the Lower Mainland and surrounding areas, managing existing relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities. This is a technical sales role, heavily focused on process instrumentation (approximately 80%), with exposure to electrical and control systems. You’ll work closely with engineering firms, OEMs, utilities, municipalities, and industrial clients, helping them identify and implement the right technical solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing: Customer & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, engineers, and end users
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical insight and solution-based support
- Manage customer expectations and ensure a high level of responsiveness and follow-up
- Position a broad portfolio of instrumentation and control solutions effectively
Business Development & Territory Growth
- Identify and develop new opportunities across your territory
- Map customer organizations and build key stakeholder relationships
- Maintain and manage a healthy sales pipeline and forecast
- Execute territory plans aligned with growth targets
Technical Sales & Project Support
- Work across a range of applications involving instrumentation, measurement, and control systems
- Collaborate with internal technical teams and vendor partners
- Support customers through specification, selection, and implementation phases
- Stay current on market trends, products, and competitive landscape
What We’re Looking For:
- Background in instrumentation, electrical, or related technical field (preferred)
- Experience in technical sales or application-based sales
- Strong ability to understand systems at a high level (instrumentation, controls, electrical components)
- Experience working with engineering firms, OEMs, utilities (e.g., FortisBC, BC Hydro), and municipal or industrial clients
- Self-starter who can operate independently after onboarding
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Comfortable managing a territory and working in a results-driven environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within BC (~20% overnight)
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience with instrumentation-focused distributors or integrators
- Experience working with measurement devices, control systems, or industrial automation products
Compensation and Benefits:
- Total Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000+ (base + commission)
